Bluebird Sky

Bluebird Sky tells the story of two local Boulder County farmers, Danny and Annaliese, as they navigate the extrodinary challenge of building, maintaining and running a regenerative farm.

Hey-Yo had the awesome opportunity to work on this documentary with local filmmaker Chad Weber.  Hey-Yo created a 1min animated segment to help explain rotational grazing, and we built out the title design and animation, lower thirds, and end credit animation. 

We're so proud of this film.  We're in awe of Chad’s vision, and the incredible amount of time and effort that he single-handedly put into telling this story. We're beyond-words inspired by Danny and Annalise and their shear optimism and grit. Running a small farm is no joke, and we have a new-found respect for the food that we buy and the people that produce it. Working on this film made us want to learn even more regenerative farming, agricultural best practices, and how all of this combats climate change. And it’s definitely inspired us to support more local farmers. We hope it'll do the same for you too.

As of August 2022, we're excited to announce that Bluebird Sky was selected to a number of local film festivals! You can catch a live showing at the Breckenridge Film Festival, Horsetooth Festival (Ft. Collins), Denver Film Festival, and The Colorado Environmental Film Festival. Yay!

It might feel silly to draw out your ideas if you're not confident with the medium, but even a simple series of drawings can be an extremely effective way to communicate with an animator. We could see Chad's vision immediately, and that's the best way to kick off a project!
